'the' title

when i started this blog, which was before 4 years, found it difficult to put a title to the blog...it was in the midst of the MBA admission, felt this title would be apt...but the title fits well after 4 years also - I am still chasing something or the other...always planning what I can do next in my career or planning with mani about our future.....Most of us in our life is chasing some dream or the other at each and every point in life...there is never a stage when u feel contended and decide to settle with what you have in your life...always wonder whether this is a passion which has kind of engulfed the new generation...when I look back my parents always seemed satisfied with what they had in their life...

at times i feel that, in this chase, I really miss what is most important - which is the present...was talking to one of my good friends in india and he also had the same reflection..maybe we will realise that the good part of our life got over while we were busy setting up our future....

these were some thoughts which really kept me thinking for a while...maybe it is the same thoughts which go through almost everyone's mind at some time or the other..

breaking the shell...

at times you doubt yourselvse a lot, think 100 times before taking a small step and by the time you do it, it will be late...this was happenign with me many times the past 6 months..lack of confidence being the main reason...at times i used to even wonder what happened to the old me...the power to take decisions and calculated risks was the best side of my character...losing that was the biggest blow for me...what happened as part of that change was -not having confidence in myself, consulting n people for taking decisions which I need to do myself....(to be continued)

such a long journey....

once shutter island was over, i had to replace it with a new one in my handbag...20 mnt train journey in the mornings and evenings are devoted to reading...found this new book in the pile from library - 'such a long journey' by robinton mistry...was a bit skeptical to take that book, cos the cover did not look inviting (ok, know that it is a bit silly but it always has a mjor impact on me;))...within 5-6 page,got a feeling that this would be something quite different from what I read daily and the hunch was true!!...the past 2 weeks was an emotional roller coaster ride through the life of Gustad Noble & his family...a heart touching story of a middle class family...the author successfully etches characters who stays in your mind forever...one thing which immerses you totally in this story is the author's attention to details..could visualize each and every scene in the book and knew by the end that there would definitely be a movie based on this....movie was made in 2000 and turned out to be a critically aclaimed movie....the feeling you get when you finish a good book is just different and it is something which is so unique also...the year of 2010 is turning out to be a year of reading for me...happy to get back the habit which I left in the middle...

one post in 2 months...how frequent I am!!..dun blame myself as these days I realise a week has gone only on a Friday evening..it is a totally programmed life from Monday to Friday...get up at 7 (cursing the alarm,wishing I had another 5 minutes to sleep), get ready in half an hour( sometime I really wonder how I am out of the home at 7.35, after getting up at 7.15!!!),leave home and rush back to grab my phone or oyster card (for sure!!!), run half the way with waffles in one hand, catch bus, another round of marathon to catch tube,reach office at 8.30!!...dun even know how time flies and within no time it is 6 and time to leave...by the time, I reach home it is 7.30-8 that the only thing in m mind is to eat something and go to sleep....the same routine from Monday - Friday!!...I know this is not a lonely case and this is the story of a good % of Londoners...in between where do you find time to blog???....ok,maybe on the weekends and that is what I am doing now....anyway no worries, any day I will prefer this busy hectic schedule than staying at home :)..so the chase continues ;)
